 The boring fantasy of Work

Money is magic
(I write before getting off the train)
so, I decide to clock in today
and in having a meeting with my boss, he tells me
“if you have it, you can get more of it
without contributing anything of value.
The prestige lies in convincing people this is true and just.”

I imagine this to mean,
once I spend at least 7 years at this place
I can turn social relations
into Financial ones
making Domination completely invisible.

Middle schoolers with names

Three people walking home after school
Three boys without an umbrella,
one of them foolish, another one a lot more stupid.
All taking a seat in the rain infested couch
making me laugh sillily
making me play with my feet more than normal.
Three friends gathering together
avoiding the responsibility of finding shelter
watching the roaches escape from the couch
as they all laugh and force each other
closer to the worn-down upholstery.
Three people I will sadly never experience again.
